Faith comes by hearing

What is it about reading that captures your imagination so much? You zone out from your surroundings and zone into what you are reading. It's similar to plugging in your headphones to listen and shut out the noise in the atmosphere around you. Welcome to my world.
My business is all about listening. I work as an audio transcriber - what's that? It's the ability to listen to someone speaking and capture all that they say. It goes far beyond typing up a letter or two, in fact I don't do that at all. I specialise. I listen to a depth that takes in every noise, cough, splutter and background noise, along with what a person is saying. It is the sort of audio typing that is required to produce transcripts of police interviews, or focus groups of anything up to 15 voices with the ability to pick up who said what and when without having been in the room at the time.
I take what is spoken and put it in print, for all to read. Jesus often used things people understood to communicate His message of The Kingdom. During His time here on earth, He spoke to people about sheep, about fishing, about crops and everyday situations that they could associate with. He wrote words on their hearts by the things He said. His words became living in their ears and gave life to those that heard and understood. In my job I give life to the audio by putting it onto paper for others to read and disseminate.
I thank the Lord for the gift of hearing, most of all hearing Him speak to me through the Holy Spirit. Of His leading me into doing the work that I do and giving me direction when I ask Him which way to go. He led me to start transcribing from home. He led me to enable others to work from home by blessing the business to a place of expansion and inviting others to do what I do. He's led me to open a new venture - church sermon transcription. It isn't anything new in the US but not something widely available to UK Pastors and Teachers; until now.
Each day when I put on my headphones and tune into what is being said and produce a transcript, I thank God for giving me this work in the world of business. I thank Him that what we see in the 'natural world' is a reflection of the Spiritual world. I pray He speaks into my ears and I put into print on the pages of my life something others want to read, to yearn to meet the author and to find an adventure beginning in their lives they thought they could only ever read about in books.
If you have a book burning in you, that He has been playing in your ears, I'd be honoured to transcribe it for you. If you have church sermons you want the world to read about I'd be pleased to turn your spoken words into words on paper. One word from the King changes everything - let's starting communicating what He says far and wide!
